Ain’t Nothin Like a Dame

“I used to be Snow White but I drifted…” Mae West

Mae West was a real Dame.

Dame is one of those words that has vanished from today’s lingo. I miss it.
It’s one of those “politically incorrect” words that had power or at least the woman it described had power. Strong, sensual, sexual truth-be-told and in-your-face power. One cable network talks about “living life out loud.” A dame lived her life out loud. She could make you cry, sigh, rage and/or laugh out loud. A dame was a woman who honestly loved being a woman with all its guts and glory. Yay Mae. I miss dames like you.

More quotes by Mae:

“A dame that knows the ropes isn’t likely to get tied up.”

“The curve is more powerful than the sword.”

“You are never too old to become younger”.
